President Donald J. Trump’s ERRORS
As I sit here in 2021 and review what I believe happened in his presidency, I believe that Donald Trump made many mistakes that were greater than his achievements. His biggest and most upsetting was the use of “I” instead of an occasional “we”.
He was wrong to take us out of the Paris Climate Accord. Instead of withdrawing America should have adjusted our financial contribution to a per person amount equal to the per person contribution of Germany.
He was wrong to withdraw from the World Health Organization, America should have adjusted our financial contribution to a per person amount equal to the per person contribution of China.
He was wrong to try to abandon the “Affordable Care Act” – He became obsessed with it calling it the “Obama Care Act” and tried to kill it rather that fix it. America needs affordable care NOT FREE health care.
He was wrong to not try to solve DACA “Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals” The so-called “DREAMERS”. Instead of an executive order that they must go he could have proposed legislation to the Congress to set standards by which they could stay and under what conditions they could become American Citizens.
But I also look at his achievements:
- Withdrawal from the Iran Agreement was a clear message that America stands for Peace and will not allow Iran to become a nuclear power.
- A strong Military is and will always be the best deterrent to war.
- His strong case for peace in the Middle East seems to have had positive effects.
- His America First policy has helped American jobs.
- His efforts to help those who help themselves have done more for black and Hispanic minorities than past none or weak efforts.
- He has brought our military home.
- He did try, unsuccessfully to empty the Swamp.
