Delay Inauguration 2021
In America’s early days the majority of Presidential Inaugurations were in March, of the year following the election. This was due to the problems of compiling and counting the ballots cast for each Presidential Candidate in November.
After the Second World War Television, radio, newspapers and voting machines progressed to the point that we could learn the winner in the Month of November. Starting with Franklin D. Roosevelt, Inaugurations were changed to January 20th, of each year following a Presidential Election.
While “Absentee Ballots” are requested, verified and have been in use for many years, they should not, and have not, cause a delay in tabulating the results.
With the advent of “mail in ballots”, that are sent to many residents, the process of checking with the voting records of the Democratic and the Republican Registrars of Voting, verifying that that person has the right to vote, did not vote at the poles, and still resides where they say they do, will cause enormous delays. Also the meddling from China and other countries requires that extra care and verification be taken before each vote is counted.
It may well be December or January before an accurate and vetted count can be completed. As our forefathers delayed for accurate counting in the 18th and 19th centuries, we must consider moving the Presidential Inauguration to February or March 2021.
