BALANCED VIEWS
“Do anti-abortion grandstanders actually care about rape in war zones?”
I believe that Mary Sanchez’s comments in her recent article are unfair to those people who support President Trump for his “Pro Life” position. I am not commenting on what is happening at the United Nations, I care about what is happening here in America.
I am a former Democrat that is Pro Life. The OLD Democratic Party tolerated Pro Life and Pro Choice points of view. When the current head of the Democrat National Committee, Mr. Perez, stated in his first major speech that in order to be a Democrat one must be Pro Choice I knew that I could no longer remain in the Democrat Party.
The Democrat party in Virginia states that once the baby is born, it would be made comfortable while the doctor meets with the parents to determine if the life of that newborn should be terminated. This is something that I could never be a part of. I have the courage to defend the unborn without being called an anti-abortion grandstander.
When candidates run for office they state their positions on many topics. While I consider individual voting I am also mindful of their party’s platform or position in general. Remember your concerns are your choice and your neighbor may have different priorities than you, but you must consider their ideas if you want them to consider yours. Shouting and demeaning others does nothing to further your position, it only encourages chaos.
Selection of leaders by voting is the highest and most important calling of our political system. It is the very thing that separates us from totalitarian governments. It must be done thoughtfully and done well. Please do not label me an “anti-abortion grandstander” for my beliefs and support for the life of the unborn.
Everyone is entitled to their own point of view without getting labeled.
