October 2016 Our National Anthem

October 15, 2016 By joefarricielli

Our National Anthem

I can understand the NFL players wanting to protest and support “Black Life’s Matter”. I also know that employer team owners do have some control over certain actions of their employees. I do not think that “NOT PLAYING” players who take a knee during the national anthem would be fair to the patrons that go to see the event.

I would suggest that the owners not fine the players because that would be unfair. I do believe that the team owners can and should  make players know that If they “take a knee” during the National Anthem for “awareness”  they will deduct 5% of the players annual salary, for each time they “take a knee” during the National Anthem  and DONATE IT TO “Black Life’s Matter”.

I also think that a moment of silence for “Black Life’s Matter “ could happen before or after the National Anthem – when all who support Black Life’s Matter can take a knee, or those who cannot – can quietly stand and bow their heads.

All true Americans should stand with their hand over their heart for the National Anthem.
