America Needs a Third Party
The political climate in America would indicate to me that a THIRD National Party is needed. Both Donald Trump and Senator Sanders have shown that neither the main stream liberal Democrats or the Ultra Conservative Republicans offer what a major portion of Americans desire.
England has three major political parties. Although Israel has many political parties, there are only three major political parties. Even Iran has a three party system. By having a two party system in America, the Democrats ignore the Republicans when they are in power and the Republicans ignore the Democrats when they are in power. Ultimately it is the average American who is ignored and hurt by their actions.
If America had a third party that represented 20% or 30% of the voters, that would mean that Washington politicians would need to build a consensus of opinion in Congress in order to pass legislation rather than ignore their opposing party and accomplish very little as is the case today.
If America had a third party that represented 20% or 30% of the voters that would mean that Washington would need to build consensus and not just ignore their opponent parties. Co-Operation would replace discord. Good Government would replace special interests. There would be increased competition among elected officials which could result in the elimination of set asides, create a balanced budget, a safe America and maybe even term limits for Senators and Congressmen. It would become more difficult for Congress to pass laws that applied to the general electorate while conveniently excluding themselves.
We do not currently know what the results of our upcoming elections will be but it is my hope that a split in either the Democratic party or the Republican party may eventually lead to the creation of a third political party. Regardless of ones party affiliation, whether it be Democrat or Republican, a third party would improve the quality of legislation coming from Washington and in essence improve America and the lives of all Americans as well.
I am not personally satisfied with either party and hope that the results of this election season will give rise to a new third party that is representative and sensitive to the needs of main stream Americans. I am not speaking of voters who call themselves independent, I am advocating a full third party that would have candidates for local government, state Representatives and State Senator, Governors for each of our 50 states and senate candidates to challenge our sitting 100 U.S. Senators. Replace or at least challenge our existing Congressmen with party chairmen and woman from each district and every state.
